Why? I thought the whole idea was the glFusion was everything you need out of the box. Without the language files, it becomes two separate downloads? Also, how does this work with plugin language files? Do you need to download a bunch files and move them all into the correct directories even though all the files have the same name, e.g. french_utf8.php?

Lee I have it (GUS) working fine on GLF 1.0.1 and would be greatly saddened if in 1.1.0 it does not work anymore. Feel free to email me and I will see if I can get it working for you also ... I did nothing special it worked almost out of the box for me.

Over the years I have used GUS on Balita which took millions (not an exaggeration) of hits a month without problem so long as I cleared it every couple of months.

It has been running on my railway site (v1.7.0) with the ban plugin flawlessly on GL 1.4.1 and now GLFusion - I contacted the author and as he has no desire to upgrade his GL there will be no further GUS updates.

I realise it is a db hog but what it provides me is invaluable and not covered by Google Analytics (which I do use) as another writer says Google does not list the bots and other infultrators :-)

Yes I would like either compatibility with GUS maintained or GLF to write a similar plugin but it would have to show at least what GUS does to be any use.

Would making SiteTailor responsive the language change, like GLMenu, be easy enough to be included in this version? What GLMenu lacks is when a menu item changes, it still points to the same page. With my little knowledge, I figured out a hack to make the menu items link to a specific page according to the language. You can see it here. But somehow, Blaine didn't include it in his later version.

GLFusion would become fully multilingual with multilingual SiteTailor.

Hello everyone - I am still alive! I haven't been doing anything with GUS because I'm not doing much with GL anymore. I have a couple of sites based on GL that I won't be upgrading to 1.5 because it's too much of a PIA.

IMHO, the plugin system for GL is overly complex and too much of a headache to bother with. GUS currently does what I need it to do and - since I wasn't getting much in the way of support - it's not worth my time to work on it for others. [Reading that back, it sounds harsher than I actually mean it to be :) ]

If someone here wants to fork it for glFusion, feel free to contact me!

You can get the latest version of GUS 1.7.0 [09 April 2006] from http://imol.gotdns.com/filemgmt/singlefile.php?lid=16. I like the fact that it integrates with the ban plugin (http://gplugs.pigstye.net/staticpages/index.php/Ban) to easily ban IP addresses from the site.

Someone also released a Smiley plugin on geeklog.net a while ago that could be used as a base for a new one. It needs a little work. http://www.geeklog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=81966
